BEYOND THE DEN : Daniel's spiritual fortitude and triumph of faith

While scrolling through YouTube, I stumbled upon a thought-provoking comment under a video. It read, "The lions spared Daniel because he didn't smell like flesh."

This simple statement sparked a deep reflection within me. It dawned on me that lions are naturally drawn to flesh, as it is their primary source of sustenance.

However, this connection between lions and flesh led me to ponder the significance of Daniel's story. Daniel possessed a spiritual aura. He had an intimate relationship with God, spending quality time in His presence. This closeness transformed Daniel into a spiritual being, perplexing the lions. They couldn't comprehend his essence and chose to ignore him throughout the night.

In essence, this passage reveals that there is a devil who prowls like a lion, enticed by the flesh in our lives. He gravitates towards acts of adultery, lewdness, hatred, and jealousy – all manifestations of the flesh, as mentioned in Galatians 5:19-21.

The enemy becomes disoriented when he cannot detect the scent of flesh within us. He finds us unappetizing when we are clothed in the spirit and enveloped by God's presence. The devil trembles in the face of the light radiating from us, the same light that shines upon Jesus.

Consequently, he flees from us, reminded of his vulnerability against the power of Christ. Daniel's encounter with the lions serves as a powerful reminder of the significance of nurturing a strong bond with God.
